Nahum; Revelation 7

Revelation 7:9 “After this I had a vision of a great multitude, which no one could count, from every nation, race, people, and tongue.  They stood before the throne and before the Lamb, wearing white robes and holding palm branches in their hands.”  Revelation is a book of great hope.  Heaven is not going to be an exclusive country club: it is going to be crowded!  This verse also highlights one of the things I love about the Catholic Church – its diversity.  My parish alone has Africans, Indians, Asians, Slavs among others – and we are in a suburb of Atlanta, not downtown Atlanta.  We all come together to stand before the throne and before the Lamb.  In every moment of every day somewhere in the world the Mass is being celebrated, with the mystical multitude proclaiming that salvation comes from our God, who is seated on the throne, and from the Lamb.

GOD’S ANSWER: You are getting it.  There will be Presbyterians from Minnesota and Methodists from Missouri in Heaven, but they are going to be subcategories in a huge catalog.  You love ethnic cuisine Thomas; you are going to be quite happy.
