Genesis 16-18; Revelations 22

Revelation 22:17 “The Spirit and the bride say, “Come.”  Let the hearer say, “Come.”  Let the one who thirsts come forward, and the one who wants it receive the gift of life-giving water.”  The bride of course is the Church.  The Church beckons to us always, arms outstretched.  I love Saint Pope John Paul II’s “The Church proposes, not imposes.”  The story of the woman at the well in John’s Gospel, so pivotal, so powerful:  “Drink the water that I will give, and never be thirsty again.”  As Saint John Paul II prayed every day, I do pray: “Holy Spirit, grant me the gift of fortitude, that no fear or earthly preoccupation would ever separate me from you.”

GOD’S ANSWER:  Mercy is for sinners.  But My Son can only grant you His mercy if you recognize you are a sinner and ask for it.  But ask in meekness and humility, and it will never be withheld from you.
