Leviticus 22-24; Mark 3

Mark 3: 5-6 “Looking around at them with anger, and grieved at their hardness of heart, he said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He stretched it out, and his hand was restored. The Pharisees went out and immediately took counsel with the Herodians against him to put him to death.”

Remarkable, don’t you agree, that the Pharisees reacted this way to a miracle?  We can see that “hardness of heart” is a grave condition.  And a look at the newspaper or some attention to the evening news reveals that hardness of heart seems pandemic, more destructive than any bacterium or virus.  Lord, turn my stony heart into a heart of flesh!

GOD’S ANSWER:  Devotion to the Eucharist and My Son’s Sacred Heart will quickly soften hearts of stone.
