Deuteronomy 28-30; Luke 10

Luke 10:39 “She had a sister named Mary [who] sat beside the Lord at his feet listening to him speak.”

Per the notes, it was remarkable for first-century Palestinian Judaism that a woman would assume the posture of a disciple at the master’s feet, and it reveals a characteristic attitude of Jesus toward women in the Gospels.  This is instructive to a society in conflict over rights and inequalities real and perceived.  We are all equal – and equally subordinate at the feet of the Master, who calls us all to listen attentively.

GOD’S ANSWER:  The world calls you with many voices and some of these you should not ignore.  But My Son’s voice should always have your undivided attention.
