Tobit 1-3; Romans 16

Romans 16:17 I urge you, brothers, to watch out for those who create dissensions and obstacles, in opposition to the teaching that you learned; avoid them.

Good advice from Paul, as we seem to live in a time of dissension and obstacles.  I would caution my “progressive” brothers and sisters in the faith who are unhappy with Church teachings that they feel don’t conform to the times, and likewise those at the other end of the spectrum who feel there hasn’t been a legitimate Pope since Pius XII because of Vatican II: if you are a sheep that defames the shepherds because you don’t like where you think the shepherds are taking us, you better be right in your assessment.  Christ granted our earthly shepherds the authority to lead the Church: they will stand in front of the Judgment Seat judged on how they used that authority.  You don’t want to be in front of that Seat yourself trying to explain why you were disobedient to legitimate authority, while Satan gloats and your guardian angel is face-palming.  Just saying…
